Verbal Warning #2

I was late for work again this morning. Pete pulled me into the office (using the old light-switch gambit again. You know I do read my fucking e-mails, you exploitative bastard!) and gave me a bit of a verbal dressing down. I’m on my second verbal warning for time-keeping now.

I’ve told them, time and time again. If they keep the bloody windows locked, then I’m not getting in on time, am I? It’s not like I’m going to stroll in through the front doors! For a start those electronic door passes aren’t very practical for anyone under a foot tall, and are hardly the most aerodynamic of things.

Why in hell am I being punished for this exactly?

Oh yeah, and the cute environment artist who started last week — I’m still trying to get a conversation going with her. It’s hard, as you can well imagine. To their credit, most of the other staff have kind of got used to having a moth as part of the team. It’s the newbies that tend to cast the funny looks.

…and look she does. Though as you can imagine, I’m not too good with human signals and body language as such, and sometimes I wonder if she quite digs me. Stranger things, huh?

Of course, there are no stirrings there, if you catch my drift! That’d be weird! I’m not into all that inter-species shit. Just a girl who’s into her video games at all seems to be a rare find, let alone one who’s into making them!

I’m thinking of approaching her while she’s making a coffee tomorrow. You human men who worry about what you’re gonna say to a woman when you approach them: count yourself lucky! Let’s put it this way, these moth vocal chords don’t exactly lend themselves to water cooler flirting.

Goddamn. What are the chances we’ll get some female moth employees? Ha, that’ll be the day!
