Welcome Humans!
I bid ye a fond welcome, traveller. I am a moth. I do not have a name. Why would I? I’m a bloody moth. We moths are above such trivial matters!
Now, you’re probably asking yourself at this point: “Why would a moth be writing an article on the internet?”
The answer to this is simple. Because of all the bigoted people out there that would ask that very question!
Why in hell shouldn’t I write something, exactly? Just because I so happen to be a moth?? Are my opinions, as a ‘mere’ Lepidopteran, too primitive and trivial to be wasting your time reading?
Well screw that! I just so happen to have a well paid job as a professional game developer, and I feel I have plenty to say!
Sure, I may not have the sufficient body-weight to press down a single key on one of your human keyboards, and I may not be able to grip a dual-shock controller as you lot would so easily take for granted, but I have as much right to pursue my dreams and aspirations as you do.
There is an general ignorance of moth-issues in society today that saddens me deeply. Do you have any idea of the challenges we moths face every single day of our short lives? Can you even appreciate the daily struggle we endure to make our voices heard and earn the respect of our peers?
‘No’ is the answer you’re looking for, in case you’re wondering. No, you bloody don’t!
Do you know how much a blistering hot light-bulb hurts as it repeatedly twats against your forehead? Unlikely! But it’s not the physical pain that hurts the most. It’s the shame–The shame that these primitive instincts will have more power over you than any resolve to become an enlightened and respected individual ever will.
So that’s why I started this blog. To chronicle these struggles, to tell the story of a game developer and his mission to chase his dreams, not light-bulbs, in the face of extreme prejudice.
But also to voice the good times, as well as the bad, in the hope that one day moths everywhere will be able to realise their full potential, instead of being snubbed and looked at as nothing more than ’stupid insects’.
